CNC turning machine with powered tools
A computerised numerical control (CNC) is an electronic device which is used for controlling machine tools.

By using the three axes X, Y, and Z any spot within the working zone of a machine tool can be reached. This, however, only allows for move- ments parallel
to the axes. For instance, in order to attach a borehole at an angle of 45° it is necessary to turn the workpiece or the tool (or both).
